<description>&#60;p&#62;It might not mean anything but bostonradio had a twitter post pointing to a job listing for an account exec at a Boston AM station owned by Clear Channel--WXKS (it incorrectly lists the frequency as 1200, which is their WKOX). The intriguing line is that account execs with experience in selling &#38;quot;new- (sic) talk&#38;quot; is a plus.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Does this mean they may make 1430 a talker again? CC had prog talk on 1200 and 1430&#60;br /&#62;
from Oct 04 till Dec 06. Also they are affiliated with Premiere whose hosts include&#60;br /&#62;
Rush Limbaugh, Randi Rhodes, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Jesse Jackson, etc. This doesn&#38;#39;t mean that any of these hosts might be on 1430 but when they mention &#38;quot;experience in selling new(s)-talk a plus&#38;quot; you have to wonder.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;&#60;a href=&#34;http://www.tweetmyjobs.com/jobpostings/2497819/displayjob&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;http://www.tweetmyjobs.com/jobpostings/2497819/displayjob&#60;/a&#62;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;&#38;gt;&#38;gt;Job Title: Account Executive - WXKS AM&#60;br /&#62;
&#38;gt;&#38;gt;Radio experience with a specialty in New-Talk a plus

<description>&#60;p&#62;Last week it was noticed WRKO had replaced Coast 2 Coast with Howie Carr reruns (taken from 10 hours earlier in the day), 1-5 am. Turned out that RKO lost rights to Coast to Coast which soon landed on 1200&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;But are the Howie reruns gone already (not long after Jason Wolfe of WRKO told the Herald they were proud to double Howie&#38;#39;s hours via the reruns)? WRKO site now lists &#38;quot;Red Eye&#38;quot; 1-5 am. I believe this is hosted by Doug McIntyre (done by Citadel?), a new show on WABC and KABC which is expanding nationwide.,&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Howie is on vacation this week. They wouldn&#38;#39;t just be picking up Red Eye for this week?&#60;br /&#62;
Or is it permanent? Again, strange so soon after this change, esp. with Wolfe making it sound like Howie was so valuable to RKO that they expanded his hours, and a banner ad on the RKO site said, &#38;quot;Want more Howie? YOU GOT IT!&#38;quot; Why?

<description>&#60;p&#62;WNSH 1570 Beverly finishes up its ethnic format tonight (12/31) to satisfy a contract then goes back to talk tomorrow, New Year&#38;#39;s Day. The 30,000 watt by day (hugging the coast&#60;br /&#62;
down to Cape Cod; 85 w at night) signal will have America in the Morning (news and talk)&#60;br /&#62;
followed by Laura Ingraham (also on WRKO), Dr. Joy Browne, Jerry Doyle (tape delayed by 7 hours at WRKO) etc. Just about all syndicated.&#60;br /&#62;
No word if the few local shows like Antonio Guarino&#38;#39;s Radio Minestrone will return.

<title>Joseph_Gallant on "Will Entercom Reply To WBZ-98.5 By Putting WEEI On A Boston-Area FM Signal?"</title>
<link>http://radioinsight.com/boards/topic/17962#post-73277</link>

<description>&#60;p&#62;With Boston about to get an FM all-sports outlet August 13th (when WBZ-98.5 goes on the air), I think Entercom, owners of WEEI-850 (rebroadcast on an increasing number of stations throughout the region) will have to make a &#38;quot;pre-emptive strike&#38;quot; and flip one or more of it&#38;#39;s Boston-area FM stations to an WEEI simulcast prior to that date.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;My guess: The WAAF-107.3/WKAF-97.7 simulcast may well get flipped to a WEEI simulcast, with WAAF either moving to 93.7 to replace the &#38;quot;Mike FM&#38;quot; format of WMKK, or (more likely) going away like WBCN-104.1 is about to.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;There are some reasons why I think WAAF may no longer be on analog radio:&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;(1) WMKK is cheap to run (no air personalities).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;(2) Rock is a format that&#38;#39;s beginning to die. Not long ago, Boston could support three strong rock stations (WAAF, WBCN, and WFNX-101.7). Now, I don&#38;#39;t think Boston can support even one rock station (Yes, I think there&#38;#39;s a chance that even little WFNX may be out of the format by this time next year).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;(3) WAAF has some high-priced air talent that would be eliminated in a simulcast of WEEI.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;(4) The 107.3 signal will fill-in nicely in Metrowest, where WEEI-AM (especially at night) is weak.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;If Entercom decides to make a &#38;quot;pre-emptive strike&#38;quot;, they may do it very soon----probably  within days. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;To us radio geeks, it may look like Entercom is stealing CBS&#38;#39;s thunder. But to listeners, having WEEI on a Boston-area FM signal well before August 13th will lead to the impression that the new WBZ-FM went sports on FM to &#38;quot;catch up&#38;quot; with WEEI.

<description>&#60;p&#62;WPLM-99.1 has again gone all-Christmas, as they usually do for about two weeks each year.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;They took the plunge at 12:01 A.M. Saturday (December 12th).

<description>&#60;p&#62;WAMG-890, which had been off-the-air since losing their ESPN radio affiliation earlier this Fall, returned to the air over this past weekend (I believe it was yesterday, December 6th).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;WAMG has gone back to the format they had before becoming the ESPN Radio affiliate, which is Spanish-language (&#38;quot;tropical&#38;quot;?) music.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I don&#38;#39;t know if that will be the station&#38;#39;s long-term format, or something to keep 890 on the air until it is sold or a new format on that frequency is otherwise launched.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;(I&#38;#39;m pretty sure WLLH-1400 is also broadcasting this format as well)

<title>raccoonradio on "WGBH dumps folk, blues programming"</title>

<description>&#60;p&#62;If the FCC as expected approves the sale of WCRB to WGBH, WCRB 99.5 will stay classical but go non-commercial and WGBH will be more of a news-talk oriented station. They just announced the &#38;quot;difficult decision&#38;quot; to dump their Sat. afternoon folk and Sat. night blues shows, which had run for many years (in the case of the latter, Mai Cramer had done over 25 years by the time she passed on earlier this decade; Brendan Hogan had hosted it more recently).&#60;br /&#62;
They point out other spots on the dial do offer blues or folk (and there&#38;#39;s also HD or&#60;br /&#62;
satellite radio if you prefer). But some stations may not be powerful, and the HD&#60;br /&#62;
and satellite options don&#38;#39;t necessarily offer DJs or local content.&#60;/p&#62;

<description>&#60;p&#62;&#60;a href=&#34;http://twitter.com/bostonradio&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;http://twitter.com/bostonradio&#60;/a&#62;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;&#38;gt;&#38;gt;So @JTTheBrick signed off WEEI for the final time this morning. He said he already has a new Boston signal to carry him.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;@bostonradio (Boston Radio Watch) tweeted the JT The Brick bid farewell to his WEEI listeners but said he had a new home for his show&#60;br /&#62;
(from Fox Sports Radio) lined up in Boston (I guess JT is off tonight so last night was his 850 swan song). BRW&#60;br /&#62;
mentioned 3 possibilities...which one?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;--890: Dark since mid Sept. but could they go back on with Fox Sports Radio 24/7? At least it would have something for them to run (poss. sale?)&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;--98.5: Would they jettison Sporting News Radio so soon? Or poss. pick up just a show or two, like JT?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;--1510: For the night and overnight hours, weekends too. SNR has 98.5 nights and weekends so 1510 could&#60;br /&#62;
pick up Fox and cast aside SNR&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Others:&#60;br /&#62;
--Highly remote but there is a connection between Clear Channel and Premiere, which produces and&#60;br /&#62;
syndicates Fox Sports. I highly doubt they would dump Spanish at 1200 (Rumba) and 1430 (Mia). Do they&#60;br /&#62;
think enough people would want FSR instead?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;--If WEEI did do the ESPN to 850, WEEI to FM move conceivably the FM could run Fox Sports overnight and have ESPN on the AM but that would mean JT &#38;amp; friends wouldn&#38;#39;t be leaving WEEI after all.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I would think 1510 and 890 are the most likely possibilities
