Deletions

The FCC has rejected the license renewal for Roy Henderson’s S Content Marketing’s Country “Texas Mix 94.9” KHTZ Ganado TX and deleted the license. In 2013, KHTZ moved from 104.7 to 94.9 in a move that required Henderson to reimburse Victoria Radio Works’ KVIC Victoria to move from 95.1 to 104.7. Henderson stated to the FCC that in lieu of payment, he and Victoria Radio Works agreed to have 94.1 KJAZ Point Comfort TX transferred to them, but VRW responded they were not interested in the assignment of KJAZ and want the $98,179.08 plus interest owed to them for the costs associated with the move of KVIC.

For the second time in two years, the FCC has deleted the license of 1150 WGEA Shelley AL. WGEA was first deleted in April 2017 over $9973.80 owed for 2008-2016 in regulatory fees. The license was restored in June of this year but with the agency initiating proceedings for revocation hearings. Owner Jack Mizell responded again stating that he cannot pay because the IRS has withheld a refund owed to him and his wife since 1987. However with no further evidence of such or financial hardship, the FCC has once again revoked WGEA’s license.

JDK Radio surrendered the license of 1240 WULA Eufaula AL after the station had been silent for much of the past three years.

KVRZ Radio Club has requested the deletion of 89.9 KVRZ Libby MT following the death of its president last year.

FCC Notices

The FCC will begin to move many radio related filings from the CDBS to the Licensing and Management System starting September 25. Applications for modifications, construction permits or licenses for full powered FMs, LPFMs, and translators will now be done through the LMS.
