Charles Jones’ Gospel 107.5 WVFG Uniontown AL has been fined $3000 for failing to timely file a license renewal. WVFG was required to files its renewal application by December 2, 2019 but did not do so until February 10, 2020. Jones was issued a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture in February but neither paid the proposed fine then nor filed a written appeal in response.
FCR Broadcasting’s 105.3 W287BE Greenwood IN was fined $1500 for its failure to timely file a license renewal. W287BE was required to file its renewal by April 1, 2020 but did not do so until May 11. It failed to file a written appeal or pay the forfeiture in February.
A pair of LPFM licensees were issued Notices of Apparent Liability For Forfeiture for failing to file their license renewal applications on time. Pierre Educational Radio’s 105.1 KPGN-LP Pierre and Words of Hope Media’s 92.9 KRWH-LP Sioux Falls SD were both required to file their license renewal applications by December 1, 2020 but did not do so until March 1 and January 14 respectively.
The Estate of Robert Cummings Toole’s Classic Country 1400 KBCK and Soft Oldies 96.9 KQRV Deer Lodge MT and B&C Broadcasting’s Adult R&B “Live 104.9” KZWA Moss Bluff each entered Consent Decrees for failing to properly maintain their public files.
Deletions
The license for Citrus County Association For Retarded Citizens Inc.’s 95.9 WEYK Otter Creek FL was deleted after the station’s Construction Permit went unbuilt.
AM Changes
Mobile Radio Partners’s recently acquired 1320 WVNZ Richmond VA applies to triplex on the site of co-owned 1450 WBTL Highland Springs and 1540 WULT Sandston with 720w day and 14 watts night while changing city-of-license to East Highland Park. WVNZ has been operating via STA with 200w day/8w night since July 2020 after a power amplifier module failure. WVNZ simulcasts the Classic Hits “Boomtown” programming heard on WBTL
Rivera Communications Regional Mexican “La Jefa 1220” WAYE Birmingham AL applies to move to the site of 1400 WJLD Fairfield with 1kW day and 75 watts night.
Norsan Media Regional Mexican “1340 La Raza” WLSG Wilmington NC proposes constructing a new tower to operate with 1kW day and night. The new 160 foot tower will be located in an industrial park and has already gained FAA approval.
After operating under STA since October 2019 when it demolished two of its four towers due to rust and decay, Siga Broadcasting’s Brokered 1540 KGBC Galveston TX applies to make it permanent. KGBC will increase daytime power from 2.5kW to 3.6kW, while decreasing night power from 250 watts to 185.
