Update 11/14: 105.7 WWVA-FM/96.7 WWLG completed its transition to Rhythmic CHR as “Wild 105.7 & 96.7” at 12:00am.
Original Report 11/11: The slow and steady evolution of “Groove 105.7” WWVA-FM Atlanta to Rhythmic CHR over the past few months appears to be reaching its end. The station shifted from Rhythmic AC following the abrupt format change of “95.5 The Beat” WBTS to News/Talk in August, then added a simulcast on 96.7 WWLG on Labor Day. The final step appears to be changing the name of the station.
WildAtlanta.com and a corresponding Twitter account @WildAtlanta were registered by Clear Channel on Monday. The Twitter account proclaims itself as “Wild 105.7 & 96.7” and “Atlanta’s Party Station“. Ironically, the 96.7 portion of the simulcast used the Wild name and Atlanta’s Party Station imaging back in 2000.
