Cliff Dumas’ Alaska First Media is acquiring the nine stations and fourteen translators in Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka AK from the bankruptcy receiver of BTC USA Holdings Management as the stalking horse bidder.
Dumas, who owned 80% of BTC USA Holdings Management prior to the bankruptcy, will pay $1,280,797.59 for the properties with $380,797.59 allocated for the stations and licenses and $900,000 for the real estate property. The company had entered receivership in early 2025 after defaulting on a loan from ATB Financial for $8,155,974.17 Canadian. The company, which operates as Local First Media Group, purchased Frontier Media LLC’s stations in Alaska and Texarkana AR/TX in October 2022 for $1.3 million and agreed to purchase J&J Broadcasting’s five stations in northern Michigan in November 2022 for the same price but never closed on that deal.
