Draper Media continues to rapidly grow in the Delmarva with the purchase of Forever Media’s four Southern Delaware stations and one in Salisbury/Ocean City MD for $2.5 million.
In Delaware, Draper will add Hot AC “Eagle 97.7” WAFL Milford, Country “101.3 The Chicken” WCHK-FM Milford, News/Talk “Delaware 105.9” WXDE Lewes, and Classic Hits “Cool 102.1” 930 WNCL/102.1 W271CX Milford. Draper will also acquire Classic Hits “97.1 The Wave” WAVD Ocean Pines MD to add to its existing Salisbury/Ocean City cluster.
The deal requires a waiver grant from the FCC as Draper Media will own eight FMs assigned to the Salisbury/Ocean City market with Draper making the argument that the Milford licensed stations straddle the border and do not generate revenue within the defined market according to BIA or Nielsen. Draper currently owns Rock “93.5 The Beach” WZBH Georgetown DE, Hot AC 102.5 WBOC-FM Princess Anne MD, Country “Coast Country 103.9” WRDE-FM Berlin MD, and Classic Rock “Big 107.7” WGBG-FM Fruitland MD on full powered licenses in the market as well as 104.3 W282AW Salisbury and 105.1 W286BB Ocean Pines, which simulcast Oldies “The Duck” 107.1 WTDK Federalsburg MD.
The deal would reunite the stations with their former Delmarva Broadcasting turned Forever Media sisters in Wilmington DC and Easton and Havre de Grace MD that were sold to Draper in June 2025 for $11 million. Should the deal be granted, Forever Media will retains its stations in Cumberland MD, suburban Pittsburgh, and York PA.
