The car is changing fast. Touchscreens. Voice control. Personalised recommendations. Listeners expect the same seamless experience they get from streaming platforms – but still turn to radio for trusted content, companionship, and relevance.

The question is: how do we protect that strength, and grow it, in the connected dashboards of today and tomorrow?

Here are three key areas where broadcasters can take action right now – and a glimpse of where we’re heading next.

1. Prioritize metadata – it’s your station’s shop window. In a screen-driven environment, metadata is more than decoration – it’s discoverability. Stations without logos, artwork, or program information are easy to scroll past. That’s a lost opportunity, especially when your competitors are just a swipe away.

Supplying high-quality, accurate, and up-to-date metadata ensures your station looks great in the car – and helps keep listeners engaged, and it’s something you already generate.
