Nittany Media Rock leaning Classic Hits “Big 100.3” 920 WKVA/100.3 W262DO Lewistown PA kicked off 2020 with a new identity.
The station flipped to a gold based Soft AC as “WKVA Gold Hits“. Mackey S. will continue to host mornings at the station, which also adds Delilah for nights and will introduce new personalities in middays and afternoons in the near future. The station will also air a block of speciality shows on including Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 The 70s & American Top 40 the 80s, Breakfast With The Beatles, and The Hitman’s RetroBlast.
The changes following the recent appointment of Tony Peiffer as Market Manager for the company’s three station cluster.
At midnight on 1/1/20, a new year brought a new radio station to the Juniata Valley in Central PA. WKVA, formerly known as “Big 100.3 and 920 AM” made the switch to playing Lewistown’s light and easy favorites. The owner, Nittany Media, decided that the station needed a facelift and a new direction to target the 25 – 54 female demo in the area.
WKVA aims to be the listen at work leader in the Mifflin County seat, and plans to unveil a revamped on air staff lineup in the new future, including the addition of Delilah 7P – Midnight every evening. For now, Mackey S. holds down morning duties while the rest of the day gets the makeover treatment.
GM Tony Peiffer stated “I believe that our audience will be pleasantly surprised over our new sound, and that we will maximize impact for our current and future advertising clients. The new Gold Hits WKVA has been tailor made to appeal to the lucrative female demo in our market that either had to endure burned out oldies, teeny bopper pop, multiple country formats, or hard rock on other station’s serving the area. They now have a radio option that they can leave on from the start the workday to bedtime!”
