SiriusXM has announced that their new “Carrie’s Country” channel built around Carrie Underwood will launch on Friday, June 9 at 7:45pm eastern with a live broadcast from from SiriusXM’s Music Row Happy Hour at the Margaritaville Cafe in Nashville. The channel will then air a pre-recorded Town Hall with Underwood and her June 6th Grand Ole Opry performance on its launch day.
The new Carrie’s Country will air on SiriusXM channel 60. In order to make room, a few additional channels will relocate to new locations. Outlaw Country will move from 60 to 62. Bluegrass Junction from 62 to 77. On Broadway moves from 77 to 69. Escape slides from channel 69 to 149.

Underwood will kick off the new channel live and in person from SiriusXM’s Music Row Happy Hour at the Margaritaville Cafe in Nashville with SiriusXM host Buzz Brainard. To celebrate the launch, CARRIE’S COUNTRY will additionally simulcast on SiriusXM’s The Highway (channel 56) on Friday, June 9 from 8:00 pm ET until midnight ET.
Special CARRIE’S COUNTRY launch day programming will feature an exclusive Town Hall special with Underwood recorded at the SiriusXM Miami Studios. SiriusXM’s Town Hall with Carrie Underwood will feature Carrie discussing her new channel, answering fan questions as well as new performances of some of her hit songs including “Before He Cheats,” “Church Bells,” and her newest single, “Out Of That Truck.” The special will air on Friday, June 9 at 9:00 pm ET, rebroadcast throughout the weekend, and will be available to stream anytime on the SXM App.
Following the Town Hall broadcast, at 10:00 pm ET, CARRIE’S COUNTRY will air Underwood’s June 6 performance from the Grand Ole Opry.

She will also join Guns N’ Roses’ World Tour on select North American stadium dates this August including Croix-Bieue Medavie Stadium in Moncton, NB, Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal QE, and GEODIS Park in Nashville, TN.

It was the easiest decision ever. Throw it on channel 55, and you wouldn’t have to play Jigsaw Puzzle with your other channels. but nope! I don’t get it.
Completely agree. Now I have to change my preset for Outlaw Country to 62. Meh.
You need not worry. If Outlaw Country is already in your presets at its present channel, it will remain in your presets when it migrates to its new channel.
Escape is being hurt big time; and wrongly so. Escape is the closest thing on the national radio scene that still offers a form of the B-EZ format that was immensely popular in the 1960s and early 1970s. It’s residency on Channel 69 at least made it findable as people traversed SXM’s dial… but at 149 it will get lost in purgatory.
