A pair of Program Directors are stepping down from their duties at Digio Strategies/New South Radio’s Jackson MS properties.
Matt Mony will depart his role as PD/afternoon host on Friday, March 22. Mony joined WYOY in May 2022 after previously hosting late nights and weekends at “Z90.3” XHTZ Tijuana/San Diego and APD/MD/afternoon host at “Z-Fun 106” KZFN Moscow ID.
Mony states, “I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity Clay Holladay gave me to program WYOY. Becoming a part of Jackson with the station has been one of my all-time favorite experiences.” He notes that during his tenure as PD, WYOY was nominated for a Marconi Award for Medium Market station of the year in 2023 and the station was recently been voted Station of the Year by the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters. Across the hall, Chris Bender stepped down from his role as PD/afternoon host at AC “Mix 98.7” WJKK on March 4.
Bender took over the PD reins of WJKK in January 2023. He previously co-hosted mornings at WYOY from 2015 to 2020 before leaving to pursue a career in real estate and has also hosted mornings at Country “98.1 The Bull” KBUL Reno NV.
