Nielsen Audio has released Day 2 of its monthly four day sweep of ratings in PPM markets.

Today’s releases include Washington DC, Boston, Seattle, Miami, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Denver, San Diego, Baltimore, and St. Louis.

Also released today are Fall ratings for Anchorage, Binghamton, Charleston WV, Erie, Eugene/Springfield, Evansville, Huntington/Ashland, Macon, Morgantown/Clarksburg/Fairmont, Rockford, Tallahassee, Valdosta and Wausau/Stevens Point.

Washington DC

🎄 iHeartMedia AC 97.1 WASH ranks third overall in Washington with its 8.7 share down from 11.0 in 2023.

The unknown political landscape in Washington post-election saw Public News/Talk 88.5 WAMU retain its lead up 12.1 to 12.3, while Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP rose 9.0 to 10.1. Howard University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR dropped 7.0 to 6.2. Classical 90.9 WETA-FM was up 5.0 to 5.2, which Ratings Expert Chris Huff noted was its best since January 2022.

iHeart Country 98.7 WMZQ falls 4.2 to 3.2, while sister CHR “Hot 99.5” WIHT is down 3.6 to 2.9

Cumulus Conservative Talk 105.9 WMAL trends down 4.1 – 3.6 – 2.8 post election.

Radio One Hip Hop 93.9 WKYS and Audacy Hip Hop 95.5 WPGC both rise 2.2 to 2.7. Radio One Gospel “Praise 104.1” WPRS-FM slides 3.4 – 2.3 – 1.9.

Boston

🎄 Audacy AC “Magic 106.7” WMJX climbs to a 15.4 share up from a 14.2 in 2023. Huff notes it was its best performance since Holiday 2020. WMJX’s stream adds an additional 1.4 share.

Beasley’s “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM is second down 8.2 to 7.8. iHeartMedia News 1030 WBZ dips 6.0 to 5.5. Beasley Classic Hits 105.7 WROR falls 5.9 to 4.5 for its lowest share since Holiday 2023. Public News/Talk 90.9 WBUR is off 4.0 to 3.9.

iHeartMedia Conservative Talk 680 WRKO drops 5.0 to 3.8. iHeart CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM slips 4.1 to 3.8, which Huff notes is the lowest on the station since the Summer of 1980. iHeart Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX continues to fall 5.9 – 4.8 – 3.6.

Audacy Hot AC “Mix 104.1” WWBX drops 5.4 to 3.4 with its stream broken out separately with a 0.6 share. Audacy Sports 93.7 WEEI-FM trends down 3.7 – 3.4 – 2.3, but its stream is separated for the first time with a 1.6 share giving it an overall gain.

Seattle/Tacoma

🎄 With one less Christmas station this year, the other two see gains. Hubbard AC “Warm 106.9” KRWM rises from a 9.7 in 2023 to an 11.3 share. Christa Media Christian AC “Spirit 105.3” KCMS-FM was up from a 2.2 in 2023 to a 3.4, but still down from its 4.6 in 2022. Defunct Soft AC “94.1 The Sound” KSWD had an 8.0 share with Christmas music in 2023.

Public News/Talk 94.9 KUOW-FM was up 6.3 to 6.7. iHeart Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK falls 6.7 to 5.8. Bonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM drops 5.0 to 4.4 to tie for fourth with Audacy Country “100.7 The Wolf” KKWF as it holds at a 4.4 share.

Public News/Talk/Jazz 88.5 KNKX continues its months long climb 2.3 – 3.0 – 3.2 – 3.8 – 4.1. Classical 98.1 KING-FM is up 3.5 to 3.9.

Audacy Rock 99.9 KISW is down 4.7 to 3.9. iHeartMedia Classic Hits “95.7 The Jet” KJEB falls 4.9 to 3.6.

Audacy Hot AC “Emma 94.1” KSWD trends up 2.5 – 2.9 – 3.3. iHeart CHR “Hits 106.1” KBKS is down 3.8 to 3.1, while Hubbard’s “Movin 92.5” KQMV slips 3.8 – 3.4 – 3.0.

Nathan Hale High School Dance “C89.5” KNHC rises 1.7 to 2.3 to set a new all-time record high for the station.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale

🎄 No station in Miami went all-Christmas in 2024 after Audacy AC “101.5 Lite-FM” WLYF had a 6.8 share in 2023.

Cox Adult R&B “Hot 105” WHQT rose 8.7 to 9.1. WLYF was second up 5.3 to 5.6. Cox Soft AC “Easy 93.1” WFEZ slid 6.2 to 5.5. Audacy Classic Hits “102.7 The Beach” WMXJ jumps up 4.1 to 5.2 for its best performance since Holiday 2020. iHeartMedia Bilingual AC “Magic 93.9” WMIA-FM swings 5.3 – 4.4 – 5.1.

Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.5” WAMR dips 5.6 to 5.1. SBS Spanish Classic Hits “Z92.3” WCMQ-FM climbs 3.9 to 4.8. SBS Spanish Spanish Tropical “El Zol 106.7” WXDJ is up 3.1 to 3.7. iHeartMedia Spanish CHR “Tú 94.9” WZTU rises 2.8 to 3.5.

Public News/Talk 91.3 WLRN-FM falls 5.6 to 4.1. iHeart News/Talk 610 WIOD yo-yo’s 2.6 – 3.2 – 2.6.

Sierra H Broadcasting Rhythmic AC “Mega 104.3” KAJM trends down 2.0 – 1.8 – 1.4. Entravision Spanish Rhythmic “Fuego 106.7” KFUE is down 1.0 to 0.4.

🎄 iHeartMedia AC 100.3 WNIC jumps up from a 16.9 share in Holiday 2023 to an 18.6, which Huff notes is just percentage points off of its record 18.8 in Holiday 2021.

Audacy Sports “97.1 The Ticket” WXYT-FM dips 8.3 to 7.9 with its stream adding an additional 2.0 share. Audacy Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC drops 7.1 to 5.7. iHeart CHR “Channel 95.5” WKQI is down 6.0 to 5.0. Audacy News 950 WWJ rises 4.5 to 4.9.

iHeartMedia Adult R&B “Mix 92.3” WMXD is down 5.5 to 4.5. Both Beasley Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX and Audacy Country 99.5 WYCD are down 5.5 to 4.4. Beasley Rock 101.1 WRIF drops 5.0 to 4.2.

Classical/Jazz 90.9 WRCJ surges up 1.7 – 2.6 – 3.4 (stream adding 0.5) for what Huff notes is also a station record high.

iHeart Classic Rock 106.7 WLLZ trends down 3.3 – 2.8 – 2.3. Audacy Alternative “Alt 98.7” WDZH falls 4.0 – 3.4 – 2.1.

Minneapolis/St. Paul

🎄 iHeartMedia Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL is down from its 15.8 share last year to a 14.6. But Northwestern Media Christian AC 98.5 KTIS-FM falls from its record high 12.1 share in Holiday 2023 down to a 6.1.

iHeart Sports “100.3 K-FAN” KFXN-FM rises 11.1 to 11.9. Public News/Talk 91.1 KNOW-FM climbs 6.1 to 7.0 with its stream adding an additional 1.5 share. In addition to its year-to-year drop, KTIS-FM trends down 8.9 – 8.5 – 7.7- 6.3 – 6.1. Hubbard Hot AC “KS 95” KSTP-FM is down 6.9 to 6.0.

AAA “89.3 The Current” KCMP inches up 5.4 to 5.5 for its best share since March 2022.

Cumulus Classic Rock 92.5 KQRS drops 5.1 to 4.2. iHeart Modern AC “Cities 97.1” KTCZ is down 4.3 to 3.5.

Audacy Variety Hits “104.1 Jack-FM” KZJK drops 4.7 to 3.3. iHeart Country “K102” KEEY slides 4.0 – 3.4 – 3.1. Cumulus Rock “93X” KXXR falls 4.5 – 3.6 – 3.1.
