Xperi has released its quarterly chart of the most listened to songs in vehicles using its DTS Autostage platform.
Xperi says that Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther”, Ed Sheerhan “Azizam”, and Doechii “Anxiety” were #1 in the US, UK, and worldwide respectively for Q2. The survey is based on data from the DTS AutoStage Broadcaster Portal. Among the trends noted by Xperi:
- Genre blending is the new normal: Every track on Xperi’s Q2 2025 Top 10 Most Listened-To Songs In-Vehicle (U.S., U.K. and global) fuses at least two genres
- Staying power: Five songs have now held a top 10 spot on Xperi’s lists for five straight quarters: Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” (#10 U.S.); Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” (#8 global); Shaboozey’s “Bar Song (Tipsy)” (#9 U.K.); Myles Smith’s “Stargazing” (#3 global); Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” (#10 global)
- Rediscovered tracks gained attention from in-vehicle listeners in Q2, driven by viral moments, standout performances and smart re-releases, including “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan, originally released in 2020, which made the top 10 on all three of Xperi’s Q2 lists, and “Anxiety” by Doechii which was originally uploaded to YouTube in 2019, and was re-recorded and officially released to streaming platforms in March 2025, after going viral on TikTok.
- Five songs stood out for appearing in Xperi’s top 10 across the U.S., U.K. and global in-car listening lists in Q2 2025. These tracks, “Stargazing” by Myles Smith, “Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey, “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan, “Messy” by Lola Young and “Ordinary” by Alex Warren cut across borders.
- Only one song released in Q2, Ed Sheeran’s “Azizam,” cracked Xperi’s Top 10 Most Listened-To Songs In-Vehicle – a rare feat, as most tracks that reach Xperi’s top 10 lists tend to build momentum over time or carry over from an earlier quarter.
- Songs by Post Malone, Doechii, Shaboozey and Chappell Roan all saw boosts on Xperi’s lists in the second quarter, likely thanks to high-profile performances at Coachella and Stagecoach, and major award wins in 2025.
