Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
November 11, 2013

Nash Nights Live NashFM Sean Parr Go Country 105.1 GoCountry 105 KKGO CMT Cody Alan“Go Country 105” KKGO-FM Los Angeles morning host Sean Parr is departing the station to host a new nationally syndicated night show.

“NASH Nights Live” will debut on Monday, January 6 on Cumulus’ Country stations including “94.7 Nash-FM” WNSH New York. The Nashville based program will air from 7pm-12am daily and will also be made available to other stations via Cumulus Media Networks.

Parr has been with KKGO since its flip to Country in 2007 and previously worked at Country predecessor 93.9 KZLA.

No word yet on what this means for “CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan“, which is currently distributed by Cumulus Media Networks and airs on many of the stations that will be picking up this new program.

The press release from Cumulus follows:

Cumulus Media Networks announces the latest expansion of the NASH Country music and lifestyle brand with the launch of “NASH Nights Live” featuring host Shawn Parr.

“NASH Nights Live” will launch January 6, 2014 broadcasting live on weekdays from 7 p.m. to midnight – leading directly into the popular “Kickin’ It With Kix” overnight show.

Cumulus Media Networks will distribute “NASH Nights Live” to radio stations nationwide. The show will also air on all 84 Country format stations owned by Cumulus, including “America’s Country Station” NASH FM 94.7 in New York City. “NASH Nights Live” will feature the latest in Country music including hit songs topping the charts, news, interviews, caller and fan interaction as well as special events that will take the show on the road to cities across the country.

“This latest Country music offering from Cumulus Media Networks will provide our listeners and advertisers with in-demand NASH programming and we couldn’t be more pleased to have a star of Shawn Parr’s caliber leading the way,” said John Dickey, Executive Vice President and co-COO of Cumulus.

“After 25 years in Los Angeles Country radio I can’t even begin to tell you how exciting it is to move to Nashville, the home of Country music, and partner with John Dickey and the Cumulus family to help grow the NASH FM brand,” Parr said. “This really is a dream partnership and I am anxious to get started.”

Parr joins Cumulus Media Networks from Go Country 105 in Los Angeles, where he hosts the popular morning show. Parr has been beloved in Country music circles for many years and has also been the voice of Dick Clark Productions for the past 21 years. His voiceover for television and radio includes announcing for the American Music Awards, the Golden Globes and the Academy of Country Music Awards to name a few.

yea, there’s the CMT live thing, and their’s this question. So I assume they are doing this with wsm/wkdf nashville? and speaking of slightly redundant country company duos, what about Dallas? I guess it doesn’t matter, but if there is truly “branding” going on, each station should have it’s own reason to be there. That whole, “owning a country duo” thing really sparks my curiosity. Must be a bit odd for the sales team to always be partially canibalizing a brand, unless there are signal radiation differences in these cases that I should be aware of. Just a thought, and with that, what about “nash fm in nashville?” seems logical that if a company owns 2 country stations, and is trying to create a national brand, one could purely be local nashville. just my 2 cents of curiosity.
