You see that the big stars are not putting out new tunes, One established
writer said this was a generation of throw away music! in which I agree
but there is one difference in todays music there aren't great BANDS with new unique Sounds! We are experiencing this now because the music business isn't on the street like it used to be. Investors don't invest in young talent or talent at all investors chose to go with wall street not the kid or hip band down the street, years ago managers and investors of bands and live music were abound, movers and shakers went with wall street and not people! Look at the movers and shakers now, do they still want to kiss some yuppie's back side?

One that I was particularly guilty of saying when I was a rookie DJ was "coming out of the radio and into your face!"

"it's 15 past the hour" (or really anytime you give the time)
"keep it locked"

Sadly, I have a hard time remembering, because I don't remember the last non-talk station that I've listened to that actually has live DJs and not voice-tracking. (There are some voice-track cliches and tells too, though.)

I often wonder why there are certain songs that are popular on the radio for only a few months and then you never hear them again. That annoys me. There are so many good songs that were played on the radio years ago that should make comebacks on the air!

This is an excellent question, and I've wondered the very same thing. I'm imagining a station in 2020 billing themselves as "Hits from the '90s, Zeros, Teens, and now!"

Music stations used to have "fast song to slow song" and "slow song to fast" transition jingles. I rarely hear those used anymore.

Attached is a "slow to fast" transition jingle used by the former "New Country Y-107" quadcast in the NY/NJ/PA area. Y-107 had a particularly excellent jingle package during their last few years.
