Ben & Skin Show Moves To Mornings At KZPS

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
August 3, 2026

Ben & Skin Show Ben Rogers Jeff Wade Kevin Turner Krystina Ray“The Ben & Skin Show” hosted by Ben Rogers and Jeff ‘Skin’ Wade are moving from afternoons at iHeartMedia Rock “97.1 The Eagle” KEGL Fort Worth/Dallas to mornings at sister Classic Rock “Lonestar 92.5” KZPS Dallas starting Monday, August 10.

The Ben & Skin Show has appeared across the Dallas market for the past two plus decades with time in middays at Hot Talk “Live 105.3” KLLI and Sports “ESPN 103.3” KESN, two stints at Sports “105.3 The Fan” KRLD-FM and time at 1190 KFXR, 1310 KTCK and on Dallas Mavericks broadcasts. They joined KEGL in February 2020 and have spent time in afternoons and middays during its time as The Eagle and Hot Talk “97.1 The Freak“.

The duo will continue to be joined by newscaster Kevin ‘KT’ Turner and producer Krystina Ray.

Rogers said, “What an incredible opportunity to join the legendary Lone Star 92.5. Skin and I grew up here, built our careers here and raised our families here. Now, to be able to call Lone Star 92.5 home is truly an honor.” Wade added, “This is the exact right fit for us and what we love to do on the air. The transition will feel seamless for longtime Lone Star listeners, and it won’t change the connection Ben & Skin fans have with our show one bit.”

Program Director Vince Richards commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome The Ben & Skin Show to mornings on Lone Star 92.5. Ben and Skin have built an incredible connection with DFW listeners over the years, and their energy, authenticity and ability to entertain make them the perfect way to start the day. We can’t wait for our listeners to wake up with them every morning.”

Ben & Skin fill the morning vacancy at KZPS following Anna De Haro and Alan Ayo’s exits in the June iHeartMedia layoffs. Longtime morning host Bo Roberts had departed last October.

Original Report 7/29: Changes appear to be on the way to iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Lonestar 92.5” KZPS as the station is teasing a “Blockbuster Move”.

The station is promoting “A blockbuster move is in the works. The rumors are real. The buzz is building. And everything is about to change. Stay tuned… details coming soon.” This follows teases earlier this month from sister Rock “97.1 The Eagle” KEGL afternoon hosts Ben Rogers & Jeff ‘Skin’ Wade teasing big news for their show.

INSTANT INSIGHT: KZPS has had a morning show vacancy since Anna De Haro and Alan Ayo exited in April. Both stations have been struggling with KZPS down to a 2.7 share in the June 2026 Nielsen Audio ratings and KEGL at 1.5 share.

A move of Ben & Skin to KZPS would likely indicate yet another demise of the Rock brand at KEGL. For quite awhile there has been speculation of iHeart launching a competitor to Cumulus Media’s Country duo of “New Country 96.3” KSCS and “99.5 The Wolf” KPLX. However, with Radio One’s purchase of Service Broadcasting’s crosstown stations, there has been a lot of chatter than if one of the two Hip Hop brands “97.9 The Beat” KBFB or “K104” KKDA-FM were to move away that would open the door for iHeart to bring Premiere Networks’ “The Breakfast Club” to the market to anchor a new Hip Hop brand.

Throughout my career in radio research, there was a serious truism: the third one in a format will lose. Yeah, it’s Texas and KSCS and KPLX don’t seem to have the same gusto they once did. But if iHeart goes Country, it’ll still be the #3 station in the format.
