Jowcol ‘Boogie D’ Dolby has exited as OM of Urban One Urban “Hot 107.5” WGPR and Urban AC “105.9 Kiss-FM” WDMK Detroit.
In his twelve years with Urban One, Dolby programmed in Philadelphia and St. Louis in addition to Detroit. He has also programmed “Power 1490” KJYK Tucson and served as Music Director of 95.5 WPGC Washington during his career.
Max Media has announced the promotion of afternoon host Nick Cattles to Program Director of Sports “ESPN 94.1” WVSP Norfolk. Cattles is in his second tour with the station. He worked there from 2012 through January 2017 and then returned in July 2018. In between he worked at “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM Boston. Cattles will take the programming duties for WVSP that was held by Mark McKay until his exit last week.
Across the hall at CHR “Hot 100” 100.5 WVHT, the station has added Premiere Networks’ syndicated Elvis Duran for mornings. Duran previously was heard in the market on iHeartMedia’s “Now 105.3” WNOH until its October 2017 flip to Alternative.
Cumulus News/Talk 770 KKOB Albuquerque has announced that longtime “94 Rock” KZRR morning host T.J. Trout will join the station as afternoon host starting January 22. Trout spent 25 years at KZRR until retiring in 2011. Trout told the Albuquerque Journal that he was brought in to “help change the culture of the radio station” due to his liberal leaning.
Magnum Media Country “92.1 VTY Country” WVTY Racine/Milwaukee has added Mitch Morgan to host an 8-10am show in addition to the afternoon shift he hosts on sister “92.5 Buzz Country” WMBZ-FM West Bend. Prior to joining WMBZ in 2015, Morgan spent 25 years at iHeartMedia Country “FM 106.1” WMIL-FM Milwaukee.
Midwest Communications CHR “i106.7” WNFN Nashville has promoted Aaron Traylor to Mixshow Programmer and will mix from 7-10pm on Saturday nights with DJ Debonair following from 10pm-12am. Traylor previously programmed “103.3 Kiss-FM” KSAS-FM Boise and “107.5 Zoo-FM” KENR Missoula MT.
YEA Networks has announced two additional affiliates for Tino Cochino Radio. Community Broadcast Partners CHR “96Q” KORQ Abilene TX will add the show for afternoons from 3-7pm, while Adams Radio CHR “Hot 103.1” KHQT Las Cruces NM will run it from 7-11pm.
Beasley Media has hired Jennifer Sulik to the newly created Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for their newly launched Beasley XP eSports division.
Beasley Media Group, LLC; a subsidiary of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBGI) announces Jennifer Sulik has been named to the newly created position of Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Beasley XP, the company’s recently announced esports division.
Sulik most recently served as the founder and chief executive officer of Go Media Detroit, a successful digital media advertising agency in the Motor City. In addition, she worked in the Digital Sales division at WXYZ-TV in Detroit and UBM Tech in San Francisco, where Sulik developed integrated business-to-business media campaigns targeting game developers and game industry influencers, including Game Developer Magazine, Gamasutra.com and Indiegames.com.
