After losing their lease of Jaime Bonilla’s 105.7 XEPRS-FM Tijuana in December 2018, Broadcast Company of Americas fully shut down the programming of Classic Hits “105.7 Max-FM” at the end of February.
After losing access to the signal, BCA continued operating the station online while 105.7 ran a separate mix of Alternative leaning 1980s music originating from the Mexican transmitter site with no commercials or imaging. Many staffers including VP/Programming & Operations Mike Shepard and afternoon host Karen ‘Cha Cha’ Harlow were let go in January due to the loss of the FM signal. No word yet on the status of the remainder of the employees of the station.
Broadcast Company of Americas continues to operate Sports “Mighty 1090” XEPRS Rosarito MX which is owned by Andreas Bichara’s Interamericana de Radio.
