iHeartMedia has announced that “106.7 Lite-FM” WLTW New York Program Director Chris Conley will add those duties for Hot AC 103.5 WKTU Lake Success.
Conley has programmed WLTW since 2008 after previously serving as VP/AC Programming for McVay Media Consulting. He also spent 11 years programming AC “B101” WBEB Philadelphia from 1996-2007 and has programmed in Denver, Boston and Pittsburgh.
WKTU has been without an appointed PD since Rob Miller transferred to Miami as Senior Vice President of Programming in January. Miller also serves as Executive Vice President of Hot AC Programming and Strategy for iHeartMedia’s National Programming Group.
iHeartMedia announced today that Chris Conley has been named Program Director for New York’s 103.5 KTU, The Beat of NY, effective immediately. Conley will continue his role as Program Director for 106.7 LITE FM as well as Adult Contemporary Brand Manager for iHeartMedia. iHeartMedia New York has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than six stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Program Director, Conley will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the station’s music, on-air personalities, programming, promotions and digital operations for 103.5 KTU. He will report to Thea Mitchem, Executive Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Baltimore.
“Chris Conley is an outstanding Program Director with an extensive track record of success,” said Mitchem. “Chris is uniquely qualified to take KTU to the next level while preserving the great legacy of the Beat of New York.”
Conley is a media veteran with decade’s worth of programming experience. He joined iHeartMedia New York’s 106.7 LITE FM in 2008 and has played an integral role in the station’s programming success. His leadership has led to 106.7 LITE FM being ranked No.1 (persons aged 25 to 54) nearly every month for the past decade in the New York market.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the talented staff of WKTU,” said Conley. “The Beat of New York is one of the most popular and unique brands on the radio with its blend of today’s rhythm and iconic throwbacks.”
