After taking its Wichita cluster off the air following the collapse of its sale to Allied Media Partners in late September, Rocking M Media has revived two of its six stations.
Both stations are utilizing 24/7 programming services distributed by Envision Networks. What was Red Dirt Country “KSCountry 92.3” KKGQ Newton is now Country “The Brand” utilizing Suite Radio’s programming. The former Rhythmic Hot AC “92.7 The Blast” KWME Wellington is now utilizing Mike Marino’s “Jammin Radio” Rhythmic Oldies programming as “Jammin 92.7“.
The former Variety Hits “97.1 Bob-FM” KIBB Haven, AAA “Flight 100.5” KVWF Augusta, AC “100.3 The Wave” 1130 KLEY/100.3 K262CQ Wellington, and Talk 1550 KKLE Winfield remain off the air, despite the fact that no Silent STA’s have been filed for any of the six stations.
When asked by the Wichita Eagle to confirm that KKGQ was back on the air, Rocking M head Monte Miller stated, “We put it back on the air is all,” before stating he was unaware of the programming heard on the station.
Former KKGQ owner Envision Broadcast Group (unrelated to the syndicator), had placed liens on Rocking M Media forcing the lockout of the studios that took the stations off the air in September and then the collapse of the sale. Envision has since filed a pair of lawsuits against Rocking M Media.
