Update 2:05pm: Our earlier assumption was correct as KDRK relaunched as New Country “93.7 The Mountain” at 11:00am local time.
The station describes the new branding on Facebook as “It’s new day in Radio – Welcome to The Mountain. We’ll give you the New Country you love…we’re just changing the way things are done! The Mountain is committed to serving YOU, the listener. After all, you have many choices, and we want you to know how vital you are to us. We live, work & play here, just like you. Stay with us for New Country on 93.7 The Mountain. Sybil & Jamie return after Halloween!”.
Original Report 11:45am: Mapleton Communications “93.7 The Cat” KDRK Spokane, WA has dropped its format and is now stunting in preparation of debuting a new format.
The station is currently a loop of the gong from AC/DC’s Hell’s Bells and ticking clock interspersed with clips of songs from Schoolhouse Rock and Animaniacs that all have a theme about America. You can listen to the stunt here.
A simple farewell message adornes their Facebook page, “Thanks Spokane for 6 great years at The Cat….Sincerely, Jamie Patrick”
We’re still monitoring domains for a possible connection. 937TheMountain.com was registered anonymously in August. That domain could tie in with the fact that the final song on The Cat was Vince Gill’s Go Rest High On That Mountain just before 6am.
listening to the stunting, I’m thinking FM patriotic talk…
