Eleven and a half years after Midwest Communications flipped 96.5 WFAT Portage/Kalamazoo MI to Country, the company has resurrected the call letters and heritage “The Fat One” brand in neighboring Battle Creek.
930 WTOU/102.7 W274AQ Battle Creek have dropped its simulcast of R&B “The Touch” 1560 WNWN/95.5 W238AL to flip to Classic Hits under the WFAT calls. The calls were utilized on 96.5 from 1992 until 2008 under multiple formats including CHR, AC and Classic Rock but the “Fat One” moniker is associated with its CHR era in the 1990s. With the change the WTOU calls move over to 1560 WNWN.
