As first reported in yesterday’s FCC Report, JYH Broadcasting’s 96.7 KNOB Healdsburg/Santa Rosa CA will soon return to Sinclair Communications’ Wine Country Radio group.
Sinclair operated KNOB from its launch in 2002 until April 2017 when its LMA came to an end without agreeing on new terms. The station has been mostly Silent since then. Its Alternative format would return a few months later on Sinclair’s 100.9 KSXY as “The 101“.
As part of a new Time Brokerage Agreement filed with the FCC as part of a modification application to move KNOB to KSXY’s tower, Sinclair subsidiary Commonwealth Broadcasting will pay $5000 per month for a five year period. At the end of the five year period Sinclair will forgive JYH $200,000 in debt owed. The TBA took effect on September 1.
