Nielsen Audio has released Day 2 of its monthly four day sweep of ratings in PPM markets.

Today’s releases include Washington DC, Boston, Miami, Seattle, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis, Tampa/St. Petersburg, San Diego, Denver, Baltimore, and St. Louis.

Washington DC

94.7 The Drive Fresh-FM Tommy Show WIAD WashingtonPublic News/Talk 88.5 WAMU rises 10.7 to 11.3 to maintain its lead. Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP climbs 7.8 – 8.2 – 9.5. Howard University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR is up 7.4 to 7.6. Audacy Classic Hits “94.7 The Drive” WIAD jumps from ninth to fourth 3.5 – 4.1 – 5.1, which Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is the station’s largest share since Spring 1978 as Beautiful Music WJMD. Radio One Adult R&B “Majic 102.3/92.7” WMMJ/WDCJ dips 4.9 to 4.7.

iHeartMedia AC 97.1 WASH slides 5.7 – 5.5 – 4.4 for its lowest share since March 2019. iHeart Classic Rock “Big 100” WBIG-FM rises 2.7 to 3.8 and CHR “Hot 99.5” WIHT is up 2.7 to 3.2.

Cumulus Conservative Talk 105.9 WMAL skids 4.6 – 3.8 – 3.6. Audacy Sports “106.7 The Fan” WJFK-FM falls 2.5 – 2.0 – 1.4, while sister Spanish CHR “El Zol 107.9” WLZL slides 2.2 – 1.6 – 1.3.

Atlantic Gateway Communications Christian AC 91.9 WGTS swings 3.8 – 1.4 – 3.5.

Boston

Mix 104.1 WWBX BostonBeasley Media’s “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM maintains its lead down 11.0 to 9.9. Audacy Hot AC “Mix 104.1” surges 5.6 to 6.9, with Huff noting that is the largest share on the 104.1 frequency since 1990. Beasley Class Hits 105.7 WROR is up 5.7 to 6.3. Audacy AC “Magic 106.7” WMJX is up 4.9 to 5.5. Public News/Talk 90.9 WBUR holds at a 5.4 share.

iHeartMedia CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM trends up 4.0 – 4.6 – 5.0. Beasley Media Country 102.5 WKLB climbs 3.3 to 3.9.

Following its morning show change, iHeartMedia Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX takes a 5.6 – 3.8 – 3.7 slide. Audacy Variety Hits “Big 103” WBGB moves 3.8 – 3.4 – 3.0. Public News/Talk 89.7 WGBH-FM trends down 4.3 – 3.8 – 3.1.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale

Power 96 WPOW-FM MiamiCox Media Group Adult R&B “Hot 105” WHQT is down 9.2 to 8.3. Audacy AC “101.5 Lite-FM” WLYF gains 6.2 to 6.9. iHeartMedia Bilingual Soft AC “Magic 93.9” WMIA-FM is up 5.0 to 5.6 for what Huff notes is the frequency’s largest share since June 2009. Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.5” WAMR slides 6.8 – 6.4 – 5.4. Cox Soft AC “Easy 93.1” WFEZ is down 6.3 to 5.2.

After its flip from CHR to Rhythmic Throwbacks on Memorial Day Weekend during this monthly, Audacy’s “Power 96” WPOW jumps up 1.9 to 2.8 for what Huff notes is the station’s best showing since February 2020.

Cox Hip Hop “99 Jamz” WEDR gains 3.1 to 3.7, while iHeart’s “103.5 The Beat” WMIB is down 3.6 to 3.1. iHeart CHR “Y100” WHYI inches up 2.6 – 2.7 – 3.0.

iHeart News/Talk 610 WIOD rises 1.3 – 1.4 – 1.9. Audacy’s “99.9 Kiss Country” WKIS-FM falls 3.9 to 2.9.

Seattle/Tacoma

Rock 99.9 KISW Seattle BJ Shea Migs Mens RoomiHeartMedia Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK is down for the first time in 2024 8.0 to 7.7. Public News/Talk 94.9 KUOW-FM drops 7.3 to 6.6. Audacy Rock 99.9 KISW gains 5.2 to 5.9. Since the launch of its two new format competitors, Audacy Country “100.7 The Wolf” KKWF slides 7.5 – 6.2 – 5.3. Bonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM trends up 3.8 – 4.5 – 4.9.

Bonneville’s “Seattle Sports 710” KIRO is up 3.3 to 3.9.

Lotus Country “101.5 Hank-FM” KPLZ rises 1.8 – 2.1 – 2.5 since its April 1 launch. Hubbard’s “98.9 The Bull” KPNW-FM, whose flip from AAA preceded KPLZ by a few hours, has seen slower growth 1.1 – 1.4 – 1.5.

Hubbard AC “Warm 106.9” KRWM slides 4.8 – 3.9 – 3.4, while sister CHR “Movin 92.5” KQMV is down 4.5 – 4.0 – 3.7. iHeart CHR “Hits 106.1” KBKS is only off 4.2 to 4.1.

Lotus Conservative Talk 570 KVI trends up 1.3 – 1.8 – 2.1, while Bonneville’s 770 KTTH gains 1.4 – 1.5 – 2.0.

Phoenix

95.5 The Mountain KYOT PhoenixiHeartMedia AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ maintains its lead down 9.5 to 8.9. Hubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX rebounds 7.1 – 5.9 – 7.4. iHeartMedia Variety Hits “95.5 The Mountain” KYOT climbs 5.7 to 6.6. Desert Valley Media Oldies “The Wow Factor” KOAI dips 4.9 to 4.6. Hubbard Rock 97.9 KUPD is off 4.6 to 4.3.

Audacy Country 107.9 KMLE rises 3.2 to 3.8. iHeart’s 102.5 KNIX is up 3.1 to 3.4.

Desert Valley Media Hot AC “Hot 97.5/103.9” KMVA/KZON trends up 1.8 – 2.3 – 2.7. Ahead of its musical shift, iHeartMedia’s “Mix 96.9” KMXP is up 2.6 to 2.8. Audacy CHR “Live 101.5” KALV-FM is down 2.7 to 2.3, while iHeart’s “104.7 Kiss-FM” KZZP drops 2.5 to 2.0.

Audacy Sports “97.1 The Ticket” WXYT-FM slides 9.2 – 8.2 – 7.5, with its stream down 1.6 to 1.1. Audacy Country 99.5 WYCD is up 6.8 to 7.2. Beasley Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX rises 6.9 to 7.1. iHeartMedia CHR “Channel 95.5” WKQI drops 7.2 to 6.3.

iHeart Adult R&B “Mix 92.3” WMXD is up 5.5 to 6.0, while Hip Hop 97.9 WJLB rises 2.7 – 3.3 – 3.5. iHeart’s Classic Rock 106.7 WLLZ climbs 2.1 – 2.4 – 3.1.

Beasley Gospel “Detroit Praise Network” WDMK-HD2 slides 1.3 – 0.7 – 0.5.

Minneapolis/St. Paul

101.3 KDWB Richfield MinneapolisNorthwestern Media Christian AC 98.5 KTIS-FM continues to exert its dominance in the Twin Cities with its 8.7 – 11.0 – 11.4 run. Hubbard Hot AC “KS 95” KSTP-FM jumps 6.8 to 8.0. iHeartMedia CHR 101.3 KDWB has made month-to-month gains each month in 2024 rising 5.9 to 6.7 for its best showing since March 2019. iHeart Sports “100.3 KFAN” KFXN-FM ties for third down 8.4 to 6.7, while sister Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL slips 7.3 to 6.5.

Audacy Variety Hits “104.1 Jack-FM” KZJK continues its Spring surge up 5.9 to 6.4.

Cumulus Rock “93X” KXXR falls 5.4 – 4.2 – 3.5.

Tampa/St. Petersburg

US 103.5 WFUS Tampa St. Petersburg Tommy ChuckCox Soft AC 105.5 WDUV rises 10.8 to 12.1 for what Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is its largest non-Holiday share since January 2016. iHeartMedia Country “US 103.5” WFUS jumps up from seventh to second 4.7 – 5.3 – 6.6. Beasley Country 99.5 WQYK is right behind up 5.5 to 6.2. Cox Adult R&B “101.5 The Vibe” WTBV-FM rises 4.6 – 5.6 – 5.8. iHeartMedia AC “Mix 100.7” WMTX is down 6.3 to 5.7.

Cox Classic Rock “107.3 The Eagle” WXBL slides 6.6 – 6.1 – 5.6. Beasley Classic Hits “Q105” WRBQ is down 4.6 to 3.8.

Cox Hot Talk “102.5 The Bone” WHPT drops 5.3 to 3.6. iHeart Sports 620/95.3 WDAE slides 2.3 – 2.2 – 1.6.

Radio Training Network Christian AC “The Joy FM” 91.5 WCIE is down 4.0 to 3.2.

iHeartMedia CHR 93.3 WFLZ rises 2.6 to 3.2. Beasley Rhythmic CHR “Wild 94.1” WLLD is up 2.6 to 3.0.

89.5 KPBS San DiegoPublic News/Talk 89.5 KPBS-FM claims the top spot in San Diego with a rise from 6.6 to 7.4. Audacy Classic Hits “Sunny 98.1″ KXSN dips 7.2 to 7.1. Local Media San Diego Rhythmic AC “Magic 92.5” XHRM drops 6.4 to 5.4. Audacy AC 96.5 KYXY rises 4.3 – 4.6 – 5.1. iHeartMedia Hot AC “Star 94.1” KMYI dips 5.3 to 5.0.

Audacy Country 103.7 KSON slips 5.7 to 4.9, while sister Sports “97.3 The Fan” KWFN continues its baseball season rise 4.3 to 4.6.

Audacy Hot AC “Alice 105.9” KALC rises 4.0 – 4.6 – 5.1. KSE Media’s “Mix 100” KIMN dips 4.7 to 4.4. EMF Christian AC “K-Love” 91.1 KLDV trends up 3.6 – 3.9 – 4.3.

iHeartMedia Alternative “Channel 93.3” KTCL is down 5.9 to 5.0. Audacy Classic Country “103.1 Front Range Country” KQKS-HD2 rises 1.1 – 1.5 – 1.7.

With the end of the NBA and NHL playoffs and NFL summer doldrums, Bonneville Sports “104.3 The Fan” KKFN falls 3.4 – 2.8 – 1.8 and KSE Media’s “Altitude 92.5” KKSE-FM is down 3.4 to 1.1.

Baltimore

Hearst Rock “98 Rock” WIYY is up 5.1 to 5.7 to tie for fifth with Brighter Media Group Christian AC “95.1 Bright-FM” WRBS-FM/103.1 WRHS as it drops 6.5 to 5.7.

    With all due respect to Chris Huff, pre-PPM surveys cannot be compared to PPM surveys. Arbitron (now Nielsen) stated so when they started PPM surveys.

    With all due respect to Chris Huff, pre-PPM surveys cannot be compared to PPM surveys. Arbitron (now Nielsen) stated so when they started PPM surveys.
