May 2025 (5/1 – 5/28) Nielsen Audio PPM Ratings Day 2: Recent Changes Pay Off In Minneapolis & St. Louis

Nielsen Audio has released Day 2 of its monthly four day sweep of ratings in PPM markets.

Today’s releases include Washington DC, Boston, Seattle, Miami, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Denver, San Diego, Baltimore, and St. Louis.

Washington DC

105.9 WMAL Washington DCPublic News/Talk 88.5 WAMU continues to lead 12.4 to 12.2 followed by Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP up 10.5 to 10.7. Howard University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR-FM is up to third 5.4 to 5.8. iHeartMedia Alternative “DC 101” WWDC holds at a 5.5 share. Cumulus Media Conservative Talk 105.9 WMAL jumps up 4.1 to 5.1 for its largest share since February 2021.

Audacy Hip Hop 95.5 WPGC gains 3.0 to 3.6. Radio One’s 93.9 WKYS rises 2.0 to 2.4.

iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Big 100.3” WBIG-FM slips 3.9 – 3.5 – 3.1.

For the first time in its 28 year history, “C-Span Radio” 90.1 WCSP-FM appears in the ratings with a 0.3 share.

Boston

Big 103 103.3 Amp Radio WODS BostonAudacy AC “Magic 106.7” WMJX maintains its lead 5.9 to 5.8. iHeartMedia’s duo of News 1030 WBZ (down 5.6 to 5.3) and Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX (5.4 to 5.3) tie for second. iHeart CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM climbs 4.4 – 4.8 – 5.2 for its best share since August 2023. Public News/Talk 90.9 WBUR gains 4.8 to 5.1.

Beasley Classic Hits 105.7 WROR drops 5.6 to 4.8. Audacy Variety Hits “Big 103” WBGB continues its upswing 2.1 – 2.4 – 2.7 – 3.7 – 3.7 – 4.3 for what Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is the frequency’s best since May 2016 as CHR “103.3 Amp Radio” WODS.

Beasley’s “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM continues its fall 9.0 – 6.8 – 6.2 – 5.2 – 4.6 since the end of the NFL season, which places it in a tie with Audacy’s 93.7 WEEI-FM as it dips 4.7 to 4.6). Huff notes this is the first time that WEEI matched WBZ-FM since August 2019 and WBZ-FM’s lowest share since July 2020.

Public News/Talk 89.7 WGBH-FM is down 3.6 to 3.0.

Seattle/Tacoma

Hits 106.1 Kiss-FM KBKS Seattle JubalPublic News/Talk 94.9 KUOW-FM continues to hold a significant lead despite its 8.0 to 7.5 drop. iHeartMedia Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK is down 6.4 to 5.9. Hubbard AC “Warm 106.9” KRWM gains 4.8 to 5.6. iHeartMedia Classic Hits “95.7 The Jet” KJEB is up 4.9 to 5.5. Audacy Rock 99.9 KISW is off 4.7 to 4.6.

Crista Ministries Christian AC “Spirit 105.3” KCMS-FM is down 4.9 to 4.4. iHeartMedia Variety Hits “96.5 Jack-FM” KJAQ slips 3.3 – 3.0 – 2.6.

iHeartMedia CHR “Hits 106.1” KBKS trends up 3.4 – 3.7 – 4.3. Hubbard’s “Movin 92.5” KQMV follows up 2.6 to 3.1. Audacy Hot AC “Emma 94.1” KSWD slides 3.0 – 2.4 – 2.1.

Audacy Alternative “107.7 The End” KNDD rebounds 3.3 to 3.9.

Audacy Country “100.7 The Wolf” KKWF is down 4.4 to 3.7. Lotus Classic Country “101.5 Hank-FM” KPLZ dips 3.1 to 2.9. Hubbard Country “98.9 The Bull” KPNW-FM is off 1.9 to 1.8.

Bonneville Conservative Talk 770 KTTH falls 2.3 – 1.4 – 1.2.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale

101.5 Lite-FM WLYF Miami Christmas MusicAudacy AC “101.5 Lite-FM” WLYF is up for the fourth straight month 6.2 to 6.6 giving it the South Florida lead for the first time since Holiday 2019. Cox Adult R&B “Hot 105” WHQT is down for the fifth straight month 6.8 to 6.5, while sister Soft AC “Easy 93.1” WFEZ slips 6.9 to 6.0. Audacy Classic Hits “102.7 The Beach” WMXJ dips 5.8 to 5.4. Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.5” WAMR is off 6.3 – 4.8 – 4.7.

SBS Spanish Tropical “El Zol 106.7” WXDJ rises 3.4 – 3.8 – 4.0 for what Huff notes is its best since December 2023.

Public News/Talk 91.3 WLRN-FM trends down 4.0 – 3.7 – 3.4. iHeart News/Talk 610 WIOD follows 3.3 – 3.0 – 2.6.

Cox Rhythmic AC “Hits 97.3” WFLC gains 2.6 – 2.9 – 3.2.

In what can only be likely caused by an encoding issue last month, K-Love Inc. Christian AC “K-Love” 89.7 WMLV takes a deep 1.9 – 0.3 – 2.6 swing.

Phoenix

1007 KSLX PhoenixHubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX expands its lead as it is up for the fifth straight month 5.9 – 7.5 – 8.1. iHeartMedia AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ inches up 7.3 to 7.4. In a distant third place, iHeartMedia Variety Hits “95.5 The Mountain” KYOT slides 5.8 – 4.8 – 4.4. Audacy Classic Hits “Big 94.5” KOOL-FM dips 4.6 to 4.2. iHeartMedia Country 102.5 KNIX ends its slide 3.8 to 4.1.

Hubbard Rock 97.9 KUPD continues its slide 5.7 – 4.3 – 3.7, while sister Alternative “93.3 Alt AZ” KDKB falls 4.0 – 3.8 – 3.2.

iHeartMedia Modern AC “Mix 96.9” KMXP rises 2.9 – 3.3 – 3.6. Audacy CHR “Live 101.5” KALV-FM tumbles 3.0 – 2.4 – 2.0 to its lowest share since early in its Rhythmic CHR “101.5 Jamz” identity in Summer 2007.

Univision Regional Mexican “Que Buena 105.9” KHOT/105.1 KHOV gains 1.3 – 1.7 – 2.1. Audacy Country 107.9 KMLE is down 3.8 to 3.3.

Classical 89.5 KBAQ trends down 3.7 – 3.4 – 2.7. Public News/Talk 91.5 KJZZ-FM falls 3.3 to 2.6.

Audacy Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC inches up 6.9 to 7.0. iHeartMedia AC 100.3 WNIC is down for the fifth straight month 7.5 to 6.5. Audacy Country 99.5 WYCD jumps up 5.2 to 6.2. iHeart Adult R&B “Mix 92.3” WMXD is down 6.5 to 6.0.

Cumulus Hot AC 96.3 WDVD trends up 3.3 – 3.6 – 3.9. Sister News/Talk 760 WJR falls 2.2 – 1.8 – 1.4 to a record low for the station.

Classical 90.9 WRCJ slides 3.8 – 3.1 – 2.6.

Audacy News/Talk 830 WCCO trends down 4.5 – 4.2 – 3.8. iHeart Conservative Talk “Twin Cities News Talk” 1130/103.5 KTLK falls 3.1 to 2.4.

Audacy Classic Hits “Big 94.5” KOOL-FM dips 4.6 to 4.2. iHeartMedia Country 102.5 KNIX ends its slide 3.8 to 4.1.

Hubbard Rock 97.9 KUPD continues its slide 5.7 – 4.3 – 3.7, while sister Alternative “93.3 Alt AZ” KDKB falls 4.0 – 3.8 – 3.2.
