Beasley Media Group announced that Classic Hits “K104.7” WKQC PD/midday host Jack Daniel will retire from the company on September 18 winding down a 54 year career in the market.
Daniel joined Beasley in 2018 to host afternoons on WKQC and short-lived Southern Rock “94.7 Smoke” 1660 WBCN. He would be named PD of Country 103.7 WSOC-FM later that year before moving to his current role at WKQC in 2021. Prior to joining Beasley, Daniel spent 22 years as Program Director of iHeartMedia Alternative “106.5 The End” WEND from its launch in 1995 until 2017 where he also spent time as cluster Operations Manager and programmed Oldies “Magic 96.1” WWMG and Variety Hits “102.9 The Lake” WLKO. He also served as General Manager for Pyramid Broadcasting’s 95.1 WEDJ, 99.7 WRFX and 610 WAQS and held on-air and programming roles at other stations including 95.1 WROQ, 99.7 WRFX, and 107.9 WBCY. He also helped launch Urban “Power 98” WPEG in 1979.
Daniel said, “What is it they say, if you love what you do, it’s not work? I’ve had a great ride and can’t think of a better place to wrap it all up than Beasley Media Group in Charlotte, a company that was born in North Carolina. I’ve met so many great friends in this business.”
