Mark Porter’s Globecom Media acquires Classic Hits “Happy Radio 92.5” KKHA Markham TX from Tomlinson-Leis Communications for $150,000. KKHA will create a duopoly with “96 Country” 96.1 KIOX-FM Edna along the Gulf Coast northeast of Victoria TX.

Dan Dockstander’s Star Valley Media is purchasing a pair of stations in southwestern Wyoming. Country “105.3 The Diamond” KDWY Diamondville comes from the SLC Divestiture Trust I for $15,000, while Broadway Media sells Classic Hits “940 The Fossil” KMER Kemmerer and the CP for 92.5 K233DD Kemmerer for $47,000. Dockstander began operating both stations via LMA on June 1.

Birach Broadcasting is donating Silent 1450 WBVA Bayside and 1550 WVAB Virginia Beach VA to the Multicultural Media, Telecom, and Internet Council’s MMTC Broadcasting. The FCC had planned on holding a license renewal hearing for both stations as they have been off the air most of the time as the stations lost their former facility due to vandalism in March 2008.

The Trumbell County, Ohio Court of Common Pleas has filed to have the licenses of Chris Lash’s 1540 WYCL Niles and 1570 WHTX Warren OH placed in receivership in order to complete the closing of the 2012 sale of the stations to Nelson Cintron’s Sagittarius Communications. Sagittarius first agreed to purchase the two stations from Lash’s Whiplash Radio in 2012. Following a breach of contract lawsuit the following year leading to a Settlement Agreement in 2013 where the buyer began operating the stations via LMA. In February Lash turned in the licenses of both stations to the FCC which were then restored in May following the grant of a Temporary Restraining Order by the court as an injunction found that Lash violated the Purchase Agreement and the Settlement Agreement and ordered him to refrain from: 1) further attempts to terminate the licenses for the Stations; 2) interfering with Sagittarius’s rights under the Purchase Agreement and the Settlement Agreement; and 3) interfering with Sagittarius’s effort to obtain consent for assignment of the Station’s licenses. With Lash refusing to cooperate with the order, the court appointed the receiver to oversee the stations and complete the sale.
