The fourth and final day of Nielsen Audio’s PPM releases for the month bring Austin, Raleigh/Durham, Indianapolis, Nashville, Milwaukee, Providence, Norfolk, Jacksonville, Greensboro/Winston-Salem, West Palm Beach, Memphis, and Hartford.

Austin

100.7 KASE 101 AustinWaterloo Media Variety Hits “103.5 Bob-FM” KBPA rises 8.8 to 9.9 to reclaim the Austin lead. Audacy AC “Majic 95.5” KKMJ falls to second 10.7 to 6.1. iHeartMedia Country 98.1 KVET-FM inches up 5.5 to 5.6. Public News/Talk 90.1 KUT-FM is up 5.2 to 5.3. Waterloo News/Talk 590/99.7 KLBJ rises 4.4 to 5.1.

iHeartMedia Country “KASE 101” 100.7 KASE trends up 3.3 – 3.5 – 4.1. University of Texas AAA 98.9 KUTX rises 2.6 – 3.8 – 4.0. Genuine Austin Radio Red Dirt Country 99.3/98.5 KOKE-FM rises 1.5 – 1.7 – 2.4.

It was a big month for translators in Austin as Waterloo Media AAA “97.1 Austin City Limits Radio” KGSR-HD2 rises 1.1 – 1.5 – 1.7, Audacy Classic Hip Hop “Hot 95.9” KKMJ-HD3 is up 0.9 – 1.2 – 1.5, and iHeartMedia’s “103.1 Austin’s 80s Station” KVET-HD2 gains 0.5 – 0.7 – 1.1.

Raleigh/Durham

Foxy 107.1 104.3 WFXC Durham WFXK Bunn Raleigh Radio OneAfter not encoding their stations for the Holiday monthly, Curtis Media Group’s stations returned to the survey leading to stations returning to the levels from the December monthly after other subscribers were artificially inflated in the Holiday monthly. For the sake of clarity for Raleigh we will be comparing numbers for two months ago with the Holiday in parenthesis where applicable.

Radio One Adult R&B “Foxy 107.1/104.3” WFXC/WFXK claims the lead with a 7.8 to 8.5 (9.6 in Holiday) gain. iHeartMedia Conservative Talk “Talk 106.1” WTKK slides 9.2 to 8.3 (10.4 Holiday). Public News/Talk 91.5 WUNC-FM moves 8.2 to 8.3 (9.2). Curtis Media Variety Hits “96.1 BBB” WBBB rises 4.1 to 5.6 (N/A), while sister Classic Hits “Kix 102” WKIX-FM falls 6.5 to 5.6 (N/A) despite adding two additional simulcast signals.

iHeartMedia Country “B93.9” WNCB rises 3.3 to 4.2 (3.8) to tie Curtis Media’s 94.7 WQDR which was up 3.7 to 4.2.

After replacing their 102.5 signal with a pair of translators, Curtis Media CHR “Pulse-FM” 96.9 WPLW-FM drops 2.0 to 1.4 (N/A), while the former “Oldies 104.7’s” move to a weaker 93.5 translator drops 850 WKIX 2.0 to 1.0 (N/A).

Indianapolis

104.5 WJJK Indianapolis Classic HitsCumulus Media Classic Hits 104.5 WJJK rises 7.9 to 10.4 to regain the Indianapolis lead. Radio One takes the next three spots with AC “B105.7” WYXB 17.1 to 9.3, News/Talk 93.1 WIBC rising 5.7 to 7.2, and Country “97.1 Hank-FM” WLHK jumping up 5.7 to 7.2. Cumulus Country 95.5 WFMS (4.9 to 5.7) and iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Q95” WFBQ (5.3 to 5.7) tie for fifth.

Cumulus CHR 99.5 WZPL rises 3.9 to 4.7, while sister AC “Mix 107.9” WNTR trends up 3.3 – 3.6 – 4.3.

Both Indianapolis Hip Hop stations slide as Radio One’s “Hot 100.9” WHHH falls 2.9 – 2.2 – 1.6 and iHeartMedia’s “Real 98.3” WZRL is down 1.9 – 1.5 – 1.3.

Nashville

Hot 106.7 i106.7 WNFN Nashville Midwest CommunicationsMidwest Communications takes the top two spots in Nashville with “96.3 Jack-FM” WCJK up 8.1 to 9.3 and AC “Mix 92.9” WJXA 14.4 to 7.5. Cumulus Classic Country “95.5 Nash Icon” WSM-FM rises 6.3 to 7.1. iHeartMedia Country “The Big 98” WSIX dips 7.0 to 6.8. iHeart Hip Hop “101.1 The Beat” WUBT gains 4.9 to 6.4.

Cumulus Media News/Talk “99.7 WTN” WWTN trends up 4.4 – 4.9 – 6.2, while sister Sports “104.5 The Zone” WGFX slides 7.3 – 6.6 – 5.5 and Adult R&B “92Q” WQQK falls 6.2 – 5.4 – 4.0.

In July 2009, Cumulus Media flipped a struggling Sports station “106.7 The Fan” WNFN to CHR as “i106.7“. Following a 2016 sale to Midwest and signal upgrade, the station rebranded as “Hot 106.7” in May 2020. Now for the first time since its flip almost fourteen years later, WNFN has topped iHeartMedia’s heritage CHR “107.5 The River” WRVW with WNFN trending up 1.4 – 2.3 – 3.2, while WRVW was up 2.4 to 3.1. Ratings Expert Chris Huff adds that it is also WNFN’s largest share since September 2021.

Milwaukee

FM 106.1 Karen Scott Radar Shannen Riddle WMIL MilwaukeeiHeartMedia Conservative Talk 1130 WISN takes the lead 8.8 to 9.6 with sister Classic Hits “95.7 Big-FM” WRIT moving 11.2 to 9.1. Saga Classic Rock “96.5 Hometown Rock” WKLH falls 9.4 to 8.4. iHeartMedia Country “FM 106.1” WMIL jumps 5.7 to 7.8. Good Karma News/Talk 620 WTMJ rises 6.2 to 7.5.

Saga Rock “102.9 The Hog” WHQG rises 4.6 to 5.5, while sister Adult R&B “Jammin 98.3” WJMR falls 5.6 to 3.7.

Providence

Hall Communications’ “Cat Country 98.1” WCTK moves up 5.8 to 6.2.

iHeartMedia Hot AC “Now 93.3” WSNE rises 5.0 to 5.5. Hall Classic Hits “Big 101.3” 1340 WNBH rises 2.1 to 3.1.

Norfolk/Virginia Beach

106.9 The Fox WAFX NorfolkAudacy Adult R&B “95.7 R&B” WVKL retains its lead 9.0 to 10.1. Saga Classic Rock “106.9 The Fox” WAFX surges up 6.4 to 8.9. Audacy AC “101.3 2WD” WWDE moves 14.4 to 7.8. Sinclair Country “US 106.1” WUSH trends up 4.1 – 4.8 – 6.3. Max Media R&B “100.5 The Vibe” WVBW jumps up 4.2 to 5.6.

Moving Up: Max Media Country “97.3 The Eagle” WGH-FM rises 3.0 to 4.3. Audacy CHR “Z104” WNVZ gains 2.6 to 3.6. Sinclair Alternative “96X” WROX trends 1.5 – 2.0 – 2.5.

iHeartMedia Rhythmic AC “Movin 107.7” WMOV-FM has a post Christmas 4.5 to 1.0 nosedive.

Jacksonville

99.1 WQIK JacksonvilleiHeartMedia Country 99.1 WQIK jumps up three shares 7.1 to 10.0 to take the Jacksonville lead. Renda AC 96.1 WEJZ moves 18.1 to 8.1. Cox News/Talk 104.5 WOKV-FM gains 6.1 to 7.8. Cox Soft AC “Easy 102.9” WEZI rises 5.2 to 7.0. iHeartMedia Adult R&B “V101.5” WSOL inches up 6.9 to 7.0.

Both CHR’s in Jacksonville see gains with Cox’s 95.1 WAPE up 2.7 to 3.5 and iHeartMedia’s “97.9 Kiss-FM” WKSL up 2.4 to 3.3. Cox Alternative “X106.5” WXXJ jumps 2.2 to 3.2.

Greensboro/Winston-Salem

98.7 Simon WSMW Greensboro Winston-Salem High PointAudacy Variety Hits “98.7 Simon” WSMW rises 9.8 to 12.2 for what Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is a new all-time record high for the facility. Audacy sister Adult R&B 97.1 WQMG dips 11.9 to 10.4 and Country “93.1 The Wolf” WPAW is third 8.1 to 8.2. Dick Broadcasting Classic Rock “Rock 92” WKRR rises 7.2 to 8.1. iHeartMedia AC “Mix 99.5” WMAG is fifth 17.4 to 7.9.

iHeartMedia Country “Q104.1” WTQR trends up 5.9 – 6.1 – 6.5 and sister Classic Rock “Real Rock 105.7” WVBZ is up 1.5 – 1.9 – 2.2. Positive Alternative Radio Southern Gospel “Joy 91.3” WXRI rises 0.6 – 1.1 – 1.7.

West Palm Beach

97.9 WRMF West Palm Beach KVJHubbard Hot AC 97.9 WRMF rises 7.6 to 8.2 to retake the top spot from sister Classic Hits “Sunny 107.9” WEAT which dips 7.8 to 7.3 holding the majority of its all-Christmas audience. Hubbard Adult R&B “X102.3” WMBX dips 6.7 to 6.1. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “98.7 The Gator” WKGR is off 5.9 to 5.2. iHeartMedia AC “Kool 105.5” WOLL slips 5.9 to 4.7.

iHeartMedia CHR “Wild 95.5” WLDI trends down 2.8 – 2.3 – 1.9.

Memphis

Hallelujah 95.7 WHAL MemphisCumulus Adult R&B 103.5 WRBO is down 13.2 to 11.8 but holds onto the lead ahead of iHeartMedia’s competing “V101” KJMS as it slips 10.2 to 9.5. iHeartMedia Gospel “95.7 Hallelujah-FM” WHAL rises 7.0 to 8.3. Three stations tie for fourth with iHeartMedia Hip Hop “K97” WHRK down 8.3 to 7.3, Audacy Hot AC “FM 100” WMC-FM up 6.6 to 7.3, and Audacy AC “104.5 The River” WRVR moving 10.8 to 7.3.

Audacy Country “94.1 The Wolf” WLFP rises 2.3 – 2.5 – 3.2.

Hartford

Kiss 95.7 WKSS HartfordAudacy AC “Lite 100.5” WRCH remains on top 15.8 to 10.9, with sister Hot AC 96.5 WTIC-FM rising 7.7 to 8.3. iHeartMedia CHR “Kiss 95.7” WKSS surges 4.7 to 7.1. Full Power Radio Classic Rock “102.9 The Whale” WDRC-FM rises 4.3 to 6.3 to move into a three-way tie with iHeartMedia Classic Hits “105.9 The River” WHCN (steady at 6.3) and Country 92.5 WWYZ (down 6.7 to 6.3.).

Audacy Hip Hop “Hot 93.7” WZMX trends up 3.2 – 3.6 – 4.9.

Both CHR’s in Jacksonville see gains with Cox’s 95.1 WAPE up 2.7 to 3.5 and iHeartMedia’s “97.9 Kiss-FM” WKSL up 2.4 to 3.3. Cox Alternative “X106.5” WXXJ jumps 2.2 to 3.2.

iHeartMedia Country “Q104.1” WTQR trends up 5.9 – 6.1 – 6.5 and sister Classic Rock “Real Rock 105.7” WVBZ is up 1.5 – 1.9 – 2.2. Positive Alternative Radio Southern Gospel “Joy 91.3” WXRI rises 0.6 – 1.1 – 1.7.

97.9 WRMF West Palm Beach KVJHubbard Hot AC 97.9 WRMF rises 7.6 to 8.2 to retake the top spot from sister Classic Hits “Sunny 107.9” WEAT which dips 7.8 to 7.3 holding the majority of its all-Christmas audience. Three stations tie for fourth with iHeartMedia Hip Hop “K97” WHRK down 8.3 to 7.3, Audacy Hot AC “FM 100” WMC-FM up 6.6 to 7.3, and Audacy AC “104.5 The River” WRVR moving 10.8 to 7.3.
