A teaser trailer has been released for an upcoming documentary on the Rock format of 102.7 WNEW-FM New York.

The documentary’s logline says “Where Rock Lived” tells the story of WNEW-FM, a radio station that gave voice to a generation. It shaped cultural identity and was a musical touchstone, amplifying the legendary artists and bands who defined America’s youth, soul and rebellion. “The film contrasts the freeform ethos of WNEW-FM’s golden era with today’s highly syndicated and algorithm-driven radio landscape”. It Features archival footage and new interviews with artists including Gene Simmons (KISS), Todd Rundgren, Jon Anderson (Yes), Joan Jett, Mike Love (Beach Boys), Marky Ramone (Ramones) and Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake & Palmer), along with former WNEW-FM staffers Dennis Elsas, Richard Neer, Mark Chernoff, Robin Sagon, and Bob Meyrowitz.
