Nielsen begins its monthly release of PPM ratings with today’s Day 1 update including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston/Galveston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Long Island, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Jose, and Middlesex/Somerset/Union.

New York

101.1 WCBS-FM New YorkAudacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM jumps up to the lead with a 5.2 – 6.3 – 6.7 gain. Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes that this is the first time atop New York for WCBS-FM since November 2020. iHeartMedia AC “106.7 Lite-FM” WLTW rises 5.1 to 6.1 to take second. MediaCo Adult R&B 107.5 WBLS falls to third down 6.5 to 5.5. SBS Spanish Tropical “Mega 97.9” WSKQ dips 5.0 to 4.5, but its stream jumps up 0.6 to 1.6. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Q104.3” WAXQ ties for fourth up 4.3 to 4.5.

iHeartMedia Rhythmic Hot AC 103.5 WKTU surges up 3.1 to 4.2. Audacy Sports 660 WFAN/101.9 WFAN-FM rises 3.1 – 3.5 – 3.8. Audacy News 1010 WINS slips 4.2 to 3.1, while “Alt 92.3” WNYL trends down 2.0 – 1.7 – 1.5.

Los Angeles

iHeartMedia takes the top three spots in Los Angeles. AC 103.5 KOST trends up 5.5 – 5.8 – 6.5, Hot AC “104.3 My-FM” KBIG moves 4.8 – 5.2 – 5.6, and News/Talk 640 KFI dips 5.1 to 5.0. Audacy’s duo of Classic Hits “K-Earth 101” KRTH (5.0 to 4.9) and Rhythmic AC “94.7 The Wave” KTWV (4.9 to 4.6) follow.

iHeartMedia Hip Hop “Real 92.3” KRRL rises 2.5 to 3.3. Mount Wilson FM’s “Go Country 105.1” KKGO rises 2.6 to 3.0. SBS Regional Mexican “97.9 La Raza” KLAX slips 3.2 to 2.6.

Chicago

97.1 The Drive WDRV ChicagoHubbard Classic Rock “97.1 The Drive” WDRV trends up 4.8 – 5.7 – 6.0 to take the lead. Huff notes this is WDRV’s largest share since July 2020 and only the second time it led Chicago (July 2019 being the first). iHeartMedia Adult R&B “V103” WVAZ slips 6.0 to 5.4, while co-owned AC “93.9 Lite-FM” WLIT rises 5.1 to 5.3. Public News/Talk 91.5 WBEZ holds steady at a 4.8 share. Audacy News 780 WBBM/105.9 WCFS inches up 4.6 to 4.7.

Univision Regional Mexican “Que Buena 105.1” WOJO trends up 3.0 – 3.6 – 4.5. Cumulus Media Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM rises 3.0 – 3.2 – 3.9. Audacy Country “US99” WUSN rises 3.1 to 3.7. Audacy AAA 93.1 WXRT trends down 4.4 – 3.7 – 3.2.

San Francisco

Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT trends up 5.8 – 6.6 – 6.8 to claim the market lead. Audacy News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFRC is second 6.1 to 6.2. Public News/Talk 88.5 KQED-FM tumbles 9.0 – 7.7 – 5.9 for what Huff notes is its lowest since October 2019. iHeartMedia Soft AC “98.1 The Breeze” KISQ dips 4.6 to 4.4. Cumulus Media Sports 680 KNBR/104.5 KNBR-FM is off 4.3 to 3.9.

The Hot AC battle in San Francisco narrows as iHeartMedia’s “Star 101.3” KIOI falls 4.7 to 3.7, while Audacy’s “Alice 97.3” KLLC rises 2.7 to 3.4. Audacy Sports “95.7 The Game” KGMZ surges up 1.1 to 2.2 thanks to the Warriors’ NBA playoff run.

Dallas/Fort Worth

Univision Regional Mexican “Que Buena 94.1” KLNO rises 6.1 to 6.6 to continue to hold a commanding lead. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Lonestar 92.5” KZPS holds steady at a 5.3 share. Cumulus Sports “The Ticket” 1310 KTCK/96.7 KTCK-FM surges up 3.6 to 4.9. iHeartMedia AC “Star 102.1” KDGE is fourth up 4.0 to 4.4. Service Broadcasting Adult R&B “Smooth R&B 105.7” KRNB holds at a 4.1 share.

Cumulus News/Talk 820 WBAP jumps up 2.9 to 3.6. Salem Christian AC 94.9 KLTY trends up 2.3 – 3.0 – 3.4. Audacy Alternative “Alt 103.7” KVIL rises 2.0 – 2.2 – 2.7. Trending down are Audacy Variety Hits “100.3 Jack-FM” KJKK (4.8 – 4.1 – 3.8) and Service Broadcasting Hip Hop “K104” KKDA-FM (4.1 – 3.2 – 3.0).

Houston/Galveston

94.5 The Buzz KTBZ Houston Rod Ryan ShowiHeartMedia AC “Sunny 99.1” KODA remains on top with a 6.8 to 7.1 gain. iHeart Alternative “94.5 The Buzz” KTBZ-FM surges up 4.4 to 6.2. Univision Regional Mexican “Que Buena 102.9” KLTN dips 6.4 to 6.1. Cox Classic Rock “107.5/106.9 The Eagle” KGLK/KHPT (5.6 to 5.5) and Radio One Adult R&B “Majic 102.1” KMJQ (5.2 to 5.5) tie for fourth.

Hope Media Group Christian AC 89.3 KSBJ trends down 6.2 – 5.8 – 5.5. Audacy’s Spanish CHR “Mega 101” KLOL dips 4.3 to 3.5. iHeartMedia Sports 790 KBME trends up 0.7 – 1.3 – 1.6.

Atlanta

Power 96.1 WWPW AtlantaCox Classic Rock “97.1 The River” WSRV rebounds 7.4 to 8.6 to extend its lead. Cox Adult R&B “Kiss 104.1” WALR dips 7.3 to 6.5, while Radio One’s competing “Majic 107.5/97.5” WAMJ/WUMJ surges up 5.0 to 6.1. Cox News/Talk 750 WSB/95.5 WSBB (6.4 to 6.0) and AC “B98.5” WSB-FM (5.4 to 6.0) tie for fourth.

iHeartMedia CHR “Power 96.1” WWPW surges up 3.3 – 4.5 – 5.4, but still trails Cumulus’ “Q99.7” WWWQ thanks to its 5.0 to 5.8 gain. Audacy Hip Hop/R&B “V103” WVEE trends up 3.3 – 4.2 – 4.4.

Philadelphia

Beasley Media Rock 93.3 WMMR retakes the Philadelphia lead with a 6.8 to 7.4 gain, while sister Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK moves up to second trending up 5.4 – 6.2 – 7.0. iHeartMedia Adult R&B 105.3 WDAS-FM slips 8.2 – 7.3 – 6.8. Public News/Talk 90.9 WHYY-FM slips 6.9 – 5.6 – 5.5. Audacy News 1060 KYW/103.9 WPHI holds at a 5.4 share.

After Audacy relaunched Classic Hits 98.1 WOGL as “Big 98.1” on the first day of the monthly, the station dips 5.6 to 5.2. Audacy CHR 96.5 WTDY-FM rises 1.4 to 1.9. iHeartMedia’s “Rumba 106.1” WUMR dips 1.7 to 1.6 in its second full monthly.

Long Island

Cox Classic Rock 102.3 WBAB/95.3 WHFM trends up 4.9 – 5.2 – 5.7 to claim the lead. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM dips 5.4 to 5.0. Connoisseur Media Hot AC 97.5 WALK rises 4.7 to 4.8. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Q104.3” WAXQ trends down 6.8 – 5.3 – 4.7. Cox CHR 106.1 WBLI rises 3.9 to 4.5.

Riverside/San Bernardino

Anaheim Broadcasting Classic Hits 99.9 KOLA-FM remains in a commanding lead despite a 7.6 to 7.0 drop. Entravision Spanish Adult Hits “Jose 97.5” KLYY is up 4.4 to 4.5. iHeartMedia Hot AC “104.3 My-FM” KBIG slips 4.6 to 4.3. Univision Regional Mexican “LA 101.9” KSCA dips 4.1 to 4.0. Estrella Media Regional Mexican “La Que Buena 96.1” KRQB is off 4.0 to 3.5.

iHeartMedia Hip Hop 99.1 KGGI holds at a low 1.8 share.

San Jose

Despite losing its FM signal at the end of this week and gaining a new competitor in KBAY, Empire Broadcasting Country 95.3 KRTY holds onto its nearly three share lead moving 9.3 to 9.2. Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT is up 6.2 to 6.3. Univision Spanish AC “Amor 100.3” KBRG and Audacy News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFCR both rise 4.4 to 5.4. Bonneville Classic Rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX dips 5.3 to 4.9.

Alpha’s new “Bay Country” 94.5 KBAY dips 3.7 to 3.3.

iHeartMedia Soft AC “98.1 The Breeze” KISQ surges up 2.2 – 2.8 – 4.2, while sister CHR “Wild 94.9” KYLD is up 2.2 to 3.6. Audacy Hot AC “Alice 97.3” KLLC rises 1.0 to 2.3.

Middlesex/Somerset/Union

Townsquare Media Talk/Classic Hits “New Jersey 101.5” WKXW dips 6.8 – 6.1 – 5.7. SBS Spanish Tropical “Mega 97.9” WSKQ is off 5.8 to 5.3. iHeartMedia AC “106.7 Lite-FM” WLTW rises 3.9 to 4.5. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM (4.4 to 4.3) and iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” (4.7 to 4.3) tie for fourth.

While not showing much gains yet in New York proper, Audacy Classic Hip Hop “94.7 The Block” WXBK is rising in the Jersey suburbs with a 1.7 – 2.1 – 3.2 trendline.

Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT is up 6.2 to 6.3. Univision Spanish AC “Amor 100.3” KBRG and Audacy News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFCR both rise 4.4 to 5.4. Bonneville Classic Rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX dips 5.3 to 4.9.

Alpha’s new “Bay Country” 94.5 KBAY dips 3.7 to 3.3.

iHeartMedia Soft AC “98.1 The Breeze” KISQ surges up 2.2 – 2.8 – 4.2, while sister CHR “Wild 94.9” KYLD is up 2.2 to 3.6. Audacy Hot AC “Alice 97.3” KLLC rises 1.0 to 2.3.

Middlesex/Somerset/Union

Townsquare Media Talk/Classic Hits “New Jersey 101.5” WKXW dips 6.8 – 6.1 – 5.7. SBS Spanish Tropical “Mega 97.9” WSKQ is off 5.8 to 5.3. iHeartMedia AC “106.7 Lite-FM” WLTW rises 3.9 to 4.5. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM (4.4 to 4.3) and iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” (4.7 to 4.3) tie for fourth.

While not showing much gains yet in New York proper, Audacy Classic Hip Hop “94.7 The Block” WXBK is rising in the Jersey suburbs with a 1.7 – 2.1 – 3.2 trendline.
